Homework is given to provide purposeful communication between home and school, to develop good study routines, to develop independence and follow up practice of classroom work.
Individual teachers will set the requirements according to school policy and student needs. Class teachers are willing to discuss this with you. Parent support in ensuring homework is completed is appreciated.
Some suggestions of worthwhile activities that can be suggested to Parents who want additional homework for their child:
Reading/telling stories, poems/rhymes and songs
·Reading other resources e.g. newspapers, TV guides, atlases, dictionaries, maps

Papers Past NZ - contains more than two million pages of digitised New Zealand newspapers and periodicals. The collection covers the years 1839 to 1945 and includes 77 publications from all regions of New Zealand.
